In Loving Memory of
Gloria Y. Lara
March 29, 1941 - March 5, 2023
Gloria Yolanda Lara was born on March 29, 1941 to her parents, Delfina & Tomás Lara, in El Paso, Texas. Gloria lived out her early years between Texas with her many siblings and Southern California. Fate intervened when she met the love her life, Juan “Tony” Lara. They later married, and with their children ultimately established a home in Artesia, California. After 35+ years of a beautiful marriage, Gloria was widowed, as Tony unfortunately succumbed to his illness. Gloria continued her career at Boeing as a “Crater & Packer” and eventually retired after 32 years of labor. Gloria dedicated her later years to her children and grandchildren. She loved gathering with friends and family. Any and every excuse to BBQ at Artesia Park, she was for it; just so she could sit under a tree, watching as her family built life long memories.
The love, loyalty, faith and kindness Gloria shared with all who knew her is what we will forever carry in our hearts, in remembrance of the absolute beautiful life she lived.
Gloria is survived by her children: Teresa “Faye” Perez, Edna Lara, Rebecca Rios (+ Fernando Rios), Juan “Tony” Lara (+ Rocio Araujo), her long time companion: Janusz Hajducki, her grandchildren: Cynthia Perez (+ Richard Hernandez), Melissa Perez (+ Marquis Worley), Anthony Rios (+ Jamie Rios), Monica Arnott (+ Edgar Arnott), Valerie Rios (+ Robert Nuñez), Richard Rios, Elizabeth Lara, Marc Lara, Vincent Ascencio, Samantha Ascencio, her great grandchildren: Mya Veliz, Isaiah Veliz, Romeo Worley, Baby Worley, Mina Rios, Baby Rios, Isabella Arnott, Evangeline Arnott, Eli Nuñez, Elora Nuñez, Erielle Nuñez, Robert “Esai” Nuñez, Camila Rios, and her siblings: Josephine Lopez, Thomas Lara, Raul Lara, and Soccoro “Cora” Gomez.
