George William Smay, Iii

George W. Smay III, 77 of Paramount, California passed away on February 8, 2022. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Pancratius Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation. George W. Smay III was born in Gary, Indiana to George and Anne Smay on September 21, 1944. He made his home in Paramount with his wife Babara after being honorably discharged from the United States Army on November 1, 1975. He worked many jobs as a boiler maker and instrument controls manager before retiring from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He was a long time member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church. George is preceded in death by his parents George and Anne Smay of Gary, Indiana. His first wife Babara Smay, daughter Donna Hess, grandson Juan Manuel Vidal and his wife Brenda Smay and step-daughter Faith Shilcutt. He is survived by his daughter Andrea (David) Quarrels, son Robert Smay, step-sons Michael (Lynette) Davies, Robert Laird and step-daughter Quiesy (Terry) Willaims. Grandchildren Gary Fletcher, Robert Duncan, Kendra Brown, Bobbye (Brent) Hecht, Sherrill Langley, Kelli Davies, Barbara Smay, Robert Smay, Diamond Vaughn, Logan Laird and Jesse Laird. Great grandchildren Khloe Duncan, Benjamin Hecht, Bradley Hecht, Bentley Hecht, Kaydence Langley, John Langley Jr., Jacob Vaughn and longtime family friends Sandi Feenstra, Tiffany Smay, Nadine Contreras. He is also survived by a host of chosen family, friends and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
