George Morris Hayter was born July 8, 1938, in Long Beach, California. His parents, Morris and Georgene Hayter, had each migrated from Texas to Long Beach between 1922 and 1935.
George excelled at Wilson High School, Stanford University, and Duke University Medical School. After service in the United States Navy as a medical doctor during the Vietnam War, he completed his medical residency at UCLA, and then conducted a successful private medical practice in Psychiatry for more than 35 years in Orange County.
George is survived by his four children and their spouses:
Terence Hayter and Robin;
Erin Hayter and Pete Smith;
Brian Hayter and Catherine; and
Shauna Hayter and Taylor Tondevold;
He was also survived by his fiancé, Linda Dmytriw, his only sibling and brother, William G. Hayter, and eight loving grandchildren.
A Memorial Service celebrating George’s life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at his Bay Shore Community Congregational Church, located at 5100 The Toledo, Long Beach, California 90803, (562) 433-0401.
