Obituary

Franklin D. “Dee” Hatridge passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 93. He was born on January 25, 1933, in Oklahoma to Clem and Carmen Hatridge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Duane.

Dee later moved with his family to Vista, California, where he graduated from high school and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He often shared fond memories of those years and remained in close contact with many of his classmates.

He spent most of his life in Long Beach, California, where he and his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Carolyn Hatridge, built a home and raised their family. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his son Kenneth Hatridge and daughter-in-law Lydia Hatridge; his daughter Karen Williamson and son-in-law Gary Williamson; and his cherished granddaughter, Brianna Williamson.

Dee began his professional career in banking and went on to serve as a commercial real estate loan officer. He took great pride in watching land developments transform from open space into thriving communities. What might begin as a “short drive” to see a new planned development often turned into hours spent exploring properties and envisioning their potential.

He treasured vacations at Lake Almanor with friends from North Long Beach Brethren Church, creating memories that remained close to his heart. In later years, he was grateful for opportunities to travel internationally, where he developed a deep appreciation for historic landmarks and architectural design.

After retirement, Dee moved to Temecula, California, where the area’s continued growth and development kept his interest and curiosity alive. He was thankful for the wonderful circle of neighbors and friends he found there.

Though he was never the loudest or most outgoing person in the room, Dee loved his family and friends deeply. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a dedicated father and grandfather, a steady provider, and a quiet pillar of strength.
