Frances Marie (Schneeweis) Luyben was born on April 11, 1960, daughter of William and Ethel Schneeweis and the seventh of eight children. She was married to Joseph Damien Luyben, Sr., mother of 5 children and an amazing “Grammy” to eight grandchildren.
Frances attended St. Cyprian’s School and St. Anthony’s High School. She met her husband of 37 years in the 1st grade. After 13 years of Joe chasing her, they married on November 9, 1979.
Frances was a mother to all and her strong will and big heart was evident to everyone who knew her. Many were lucky to enjoy one of her delicious meals or attend their most welcoming parties. Frances loved to playfully interact, laugh and sing with all of the children who came to visit.
Fran’s never-ending career consisted of being a wife and mother, creating 5 beautiful, strong and loving children and a comfortable and inviting home for family and friends.
Joe and Frances built a life together. They could have had their own Home Rehab TV show, because they did it all. Joe handled the construction and Fran the decorating. They lived in motor homes, condos and garages while working to make it all happen. They transformed many Lakewood Village homes over the years, having fun while doing it.
Joe and Fran shared many vacations with family and friends; traveling to Lake Tahoe, Alaska, Green Valley Lake, Yucca Valley and Laguna Beach and countless other trips in their “happy van” and motorhome.
Frances is preceded in death by her father William (1988) and survived by her husband, Joseph Luyben Sr.; children Joey (Melissa), Lisa Joyce (Matt), Patrick (Reanna), Ross (Amanda) and Kevin; grandchildren, Wyatt, Avery, Ella, J.D., William, Madalyn, Trey and Connor; mother Ethel; siblings Greg, Rosie, Susie, Mike, Gerry, Terese and Bernadette and the Schneeweis and Luyben Families who loved her dearly.
Frances’ life will be celebrated at St. Cyprian’s Church on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 am.
