Fletcher A. Noel, beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa (papa, pops) uncle, cousin, friend and colleague passed away October 7, 2015 at the age of 60. Fletcher was born on May 26, 1955 in Glendale, California to Norma Louise and Robert Tice Noel. He was raised in Oceanside, California where he developed a love of surfing. He later moved to Long Beach, California after taking a small side step venture to Buffalo, New York. He cultivated a love for the construction trade first working with his dad at Turner Construction. He joined the United States Army in 1974. While in the service he was stationed in Germany (12th Engineer, 8th Infantry Div.). Even in the service he worked as a battalion carpenter. Being in the Army created an awesome work ethic in Fletcher, which he passed on to his children. He fulfilled his service to his country in 1976. He then went to work for Downey Plumbing & Heating where he worked for 18 1/2 years. He was the company's bathroom and kitchen remodeling carpenter. When Downey Plumbing & Heating changed hands, Fletcher ventured out on his own as a licensed General Contractor, establishing his own business, F. Noel Enterprises. Having his own business allowed him to do what he loved most, building and remodeling residential properties and some commercial buildings. Fletcher also coached baseball with the West Long Beach Little League (WLBLL) as well as serving as a board member for WLBLL. Many recall one of his many stern but compassionate refrains when players would "saunter" rather than run - "This is not the post office where they walk; run!" More recently Fletcher loved spending time in Arizona, particularly Bullhead City, where he found great joy and peace riding his jet ski along the Colorado River, and enjoying the river with his grandchildren, children and friends. He will be sorely missed by his wife Claudia, four children, six grandchildren, three sisters and a multitude of friends he made throughout his life path.
