Evelyn Beck Thompson

Evelyn Beck Thompson, 85, of Lakewood, California, reunited with our Heavenly Father and her beloved husband on January 22, 2022.

Evelyn was born on May 31, 1936 to Grace and Cyril Beck in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the 5th of 7 children.

After graduating from Tintic High School in 1954, she came to California from Utah where she went on to study Dental Hygiene at Long Beach City College. After graduation in 1956, she landed her first job as a Dental Assistant. Evelyn continued to excel for 10 years in the Dental Field before beginning her Custodial Work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.

In 1959, she met Carl while working at the dental office. They were wed in 1962, going on to have two sons, Christopher and David. In her marriage she also acquired two step-children; Patricia and Micheal.

After retiring in 1987, Evelyn and Carl began to raise 2 of their grandchildren, Brittney and Jeffrey, which became a new adventure filled with love and excitement. She devoted herself to not only her family but to her church as well, taking on many roles within the Relief Society, Primary and Boy-Scouts.

Evelyn is the last of 7 children to pass and was predeceased by siblings -LaRue, Eugene, Jim, Leon, Larry and Kaye.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Thompson and David Thompson; Grandchildren - Brittney Thompson, Jeffrey Thompson, Hayley Thompson, David Thompson, Brandon Thompson and Brianna Thompson-Gonzalez; Great Grandchildren - Noah Morales, Elaina Gonzalez and Gabriella Gonzalez.
