Evangeline A. Zambos Profile Photo

Evangeline “Angie” Zambos, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017.  She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late George Leappes and Maria Kazikou Leappes.  She married Nicholas John Zambos on December 6, 1953 and they moved to Long Beach, California in 1954.  They became members of the Long Beach Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and remained so until her death.

She has three children Ronnea (Jose), John and George (Lisa).  She also has three beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Alexia and Emmanuel.  As her children, our greatest blessing is that she was our Mother and our children’s Yiayia.  She was a woman of great faith, generosity, a strong work ethic, loving, loyal, funny and always searching for the best in everyone she met.  She loved devoting her time to her church and making life better for those less able.  She remained true to herself and devoted to her family.  As a very special friend said “Her life, well lived, will remain an illustrious example of Christian love and living”.  Donations may be made to The Long Beach Philoptochos – “Kid’s and Cancer” c/o Long Beach Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 5761 East Colorado Street, Long Beach, CA 90814
