Elmer Stevens was born on February 28, 1928 in Lewis County, Kentucky, the 5th of 12 children born to George Stevens and Elizabeth McCormick. He was married for 38 years to Marydean Hill, who preceded him in death in 1990. He served in the US Navy from 1948 - 1968, before beginning a 22 year career in the Operating Engineers Union. He is survived by daughters Beth and Rosemary (Darrell); sons Marc (Debbie) and Scott (Vikki); grandchildren Sara, Marissa, Barney (Danielle), Tyler, Marcus; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Aidan, Steven and Owen; brother George Stevens of Spokane, WA; sisters Mary Wright, Pauline Lambert and sister-in-law Marilyn Stevens all of Columbus, Ohio, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Everyone who's life he touched will remember a quiet, honest, generous man who loved to laugh and loved his family.
