Elizabeth Minor was born in Rapid City, South Dakota to Lysle and Mary Gale on April 4th, 1930.  The family moved to Long Beach in 1945 where Liz and her sister Barbara attended Poly High School and then Long Beach City College.  Liz married the love of her life Harry Minor in 1951.  Together they had 4 children Debbie, Bob, Becky, and Steve.  Liz was a very active in her children's lives.  She was Bluebird and Campfire leader for both of her girls and stayed active in Campfire for over 50 years.  She attended all of her childrens sporting events and activities.  She was active in Prisk School PTA, serving as carnival chair and President earner her PTA's Honorary Service Award.

Liz went to work as "Coachie" at Emerson Elementary.  She ran a very popular playground after school and summer time.  She then joined Poly's staff and later Lakewood until retirement.

Liz has contributed to numerous organizations throughout Long Beach including Ebell Club, Camp Fire USA, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Musical Theatre West, Ability First, Steel Magnolias, Beta Rho, Long Beach GOP Republicans, Fine Arts Affiliates of CSULB.  Because of her 60 years of service to Long Beach Liz was honored with Assistance League of Long Beach Rick Rackers Woman of the Year in 2007.  In 2015, she received Soroptimist Ruby Award for making a difference in the lives of girls and women.  Liz was inducted into LBCC Hall of Fame.

Liz is survived by daughters Debra Minor Kent, Becky (Dan) Schmitz, son Bob (Patty) Minor, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Liz was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Harry Minor and her son Steve Minor.  A celebration of life will be held at the Grand in Long Beach at 11:00 on April 29th.  Memorial donations can be made to Ability First located at 3770 E Willow St 90815 and Long Beach Memorial Hospital Auxiliary at 2801 Atlantic Ave 90806.
