Eleonore was born in Augsburg, Germany on Jan 12,1955 to parents Leni O. and Albert Remmelmayr. The family immigrated to the United States in 1957 and rented a small apartment in Long Beach. In 1959, her parents bought their first home in Lakewood, where she lived for more than twenty years.
Eleonore attended schools in the Long Beach Unified School District with the exception of one year where she attended 6th grade at St Pancratius Catholic School.
In 1972, she met her future husband, and they became high school sweethearts. The two dated four years before wedding in July,1976. Later that year they bought their first home where they lived until purchasing their Diamond Bar home in 1980. Eleonore attended and graduated from Cal State University Long Beach in 1977. While in college, she was employed as a receptionist and front office manager for a podiatrist. She somehow juggled roles a wife, college student and receptionist for a couple years. In the early 80's, Eleonore and her husband, Cass, were blessed with the birth of their daughter Vanessa Marie who they lost in 1986 to cancer.
In 1989, Nicolas Ceausescu, Romania's communist dictator, was overthrown and executed. More than 150,000 children were found in orphanages due to his outlawing of contraceptives and forced childbirth. Eleonore and her husband hopped on a plane, traveled to Bucharest, and pioneered an adoption process making it possible for Americans to bring children to the U.S. They, themselves, brought back two baby girls, Daniela and Cristina.
In 1993, Eleonore was offered a position with the Walt Disney Company and worked as an executive assistant to the General Manager of Disney Hotels. She was a take charge employee and a remarkable problem solver with an impeccable work ethic. Eleonore worked at Disney for more than 20 years. All of the general managers have remained in contact since her retirement in 2014. Eleonore was proud of her German heritage. In 1980 she and her husband became active with the Phoenix Club, a German Membership Club in Anaheim. They joined a German dance group and were invited to dance and perform in the opening ceremony of the 1984 Olympic Games. She traveled numerous times to Germany, Europe, Africa, S. America and Hong Kong, and traveling became a passion.
