Elaine Pirrone was born Elaine Berryman on Novenber 2, 1928 in Cozad, Nebraska, the youngest of 5 sisters. She moved to Long Beach, California with her mom and sister LaVon when she was 14, where she attended and graduated from Long Beach Poly High School.
Elaine married a few months after graduation and in 1950 gave birth to a daughter. Shortly thereafter she became an amazing single working mother. In 1961 Elaine married Lou Pirrone and they created a blended family of 5. They were married more than 50 years.
Elaine and her family were members of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Long Beach until joining what is now Grace First Presbyterian Church in 1964. Elaine and Lou were members of the Clipper Club. Elaine volunteered in the church office for many years and was an ordained church elder.
Elaine Pirrone is survived by her daughter Deni May and her grandson Alessandro Luis Montecinos May; she is also survived (from both the Berryman and Pirrone sides of the family) by 23 nieces and nephews, 40 great nieces and nephews and a bunch of great-great nieces and nephews. As one of “the aunts” she was very much loved by her extended family and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 9th at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 3955 N. Studebaker Road, Long Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give of yourself, your time and resources to assist someone in need of a little help and kindness.
