Eileen Doerr Steigerwald, 1926-2016
Eileen Doerr Steigerwald, of Lakewood, California, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, just one week shy of her 90th birthday. From her birth in Queens, New York on May 17, 1926 to the day of her death, she was smart, funny, and fiercely loyal to her family and friends. Eileen sat on the board of the Petroleum Club of Long Beach and the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation, and was a strong supporter of the World Wildlife Fund. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anita (Stack) Doerr of Sea Cliff, New York; her brother, James McAvoy; her sister, June Murphy; and her husband, Joseph (Jack). Survivors include her son Douglas of Santa Barbara, and her daughter Gay Hazleton, of San Diego.
Eileen's Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Pancratius Church with a reception to follow.
