Edward Glenn Lucas, a Sony Pictures Studio engineer, died at 5:00 am on August 25, 2021, at the age of 63 from respiratory illness.

He is survived by his three brothers, Edwin, Eric, Earl and four sisters, Elizabeth, Elaine, Eileen, Ellen and sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who knew him closely and loved him so dearly.

Glenn was born in Manila, Philippines on June 5, 1958, to Capt. Ernesto Lucas and Maria Rosario Lucas. He graduated from Philippine Merchant Marine Academy in 1979 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Merchant Marine Engineering, inspired by his father, a Captain in the Philippine Navy and a graduate of U.S.M.M.A in Long Island, NY.  Glenn enjoyed his 3 rd year in Training on board commercial vessels plying international sea lanes as a deck cadet/midshipman. He also appreciated the uniqueness of this maritime profession which required the highest degree of leadership, discipline and integrity. He extended this training and experience to his career as a Chief Hotel Engineer at the L’Ermitage Group of Hotels and the Hilton Hotel as well. He has spent the last thirty (30) years at a job he cherished at the Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, CA. He was a problem solver who often took on different and challenging projects at work and around the home.

Glenn was also a spiritual man and really cared about others. He was so loved, and he also gave his support when a friend or even a stranger needed his help. He was thoughtful and sensitive to others. Glenn will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A true gentleman, a loving brother, a fun uncle and a great friend. He was also a devoted son while his parents were living.

Glenn was a very special and talented brother and friend, who enjoyed golf, writing plays and comedy, as well as performing theatrical plays like the Pirates of Penzance, Godspell, Cabaret and other plays he wrote as well at the Cerritos College Performing Arts Center. At times, he would also do some stand-up comedy at the Pasadena Playhouse. He loved to make people smile, laugh, he was such a very kind soul who also loved dogs. He had so many pets through his life. Unbeknownst to some, Glenn was also a musician. He played a variety of musical instruments (bass and acoustic guitars, keyboards and drums).

A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, September 4 th , at 2:00 pm at Luyben Dilday chapel. The service will be officiated by Father George Florenda.
