Edward Hamm was born and raised in Long Beach and graduated from Long Beach Poly High School. He was a proud veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.

Edward married Patti in 1972 and together they had two children. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and spent his life dedicated to his family. He coached, volunteered, cheered from the sidelines and never missed a moment that mattered. He was a steady presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed surfing, camping, cooking, working around the house and barbecuing.

Edward retired from the USPS as Manager, Customer Services, Long Beach. After retirement he spent time watching and playing with his grandchildren, traveling with Patti and enjoying family.

He passed away on August 8, 2026, predeceased by his mother (Carmen), father (Clifford) and brother (Stanley). He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patti, and children Tony (Melissa), Danny (Clarissa), 6 grandchildren, his uncle, aunts and many loving cousins. His warmth, love of family and laughter will echo in the hearts of his family forever.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment immediately following at All Souls Cemetery. A reception will follow at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.
