Earl Edward "Eddie" LeBaron of Costa Mesa, CA was born to Neal and Luella LeBaron in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada on August 25, 1939, and passed away on June 26, 2016. He married Judy Blair of Murray, Utah on May 3, 1968 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Eddie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy, and eight children; Steve (Natalie) of Murrieta, CA, Robin Smith (Brad) of Cypress, CA, Karrie Denton (Tim) of Murrieta, CA, Traci LeBaron of Linden, UT, Paul (Jennifer) of Fountain Valley, CA, Jeff (Nicole) of Newport Beach, CA, Ryan (Christine) of Buena Park, CA and Sondra Dufresne (Jason) of Costa Mesa, CA.
Eddie was the proud grandfather of 39 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Eddie began his life pursuing a professional boxing career. He retired from boxing with an overall professional/amateur record of 115-12. He earned Golden Gloves titles in Utah and California and the Golden Boy Award as the top boxer in Alberta, Canada. Eddie was inducted into the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame in 1991. He also served on the board of directors for Sugar Ray Robinson's Youth Program and on Archie Moore's "Any Boy Can" Club.
Eddie became a successful insurance broker where his success earned him national recognition as a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable Association. More than anything else Eddie touched many lives through his service. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a home teacher, ward missionary and Seminary/Sunday School teacher.
Anyone Eddie met became family. He was famous for writing thousands of birthday cards to friends and family each year. He held a love for Angels Baseball, Disneyland and Club 33, where he made many dreams come true. Eddie was truly a humble servant of Christ. His life was epitomized in his favorite saying. "Make Today a Great Day!"
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2775 Placentia, Costa Mesa, CA. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the funeral will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 1:00 pm. Flowers may be delivered to the church one hour before the viewing or funeral.
