Hlavnicka, Duane Donald, 85 years of age, of Anaheim, CA, passed away on April 9th, 2018. He was born in 1932, the son of Joseph and Rose Hlavnicka in Bottineau, North Dakota. He was raised on a farm and migrated to Southern California in the early 40's. In his early years before starting a life with his wife in Anaheim, he went to college for Accounting. He was then drafted into the Army in 1953 and stationed in Fort Ord. Duane was an incredibly generous and loving man to every person who crossed his path. He lived his life to the absolute fullest. He was tough as nails yet tender hearted, a true cowboy. Games were a part of his life and many of those same games are now a part of his families lives. Once the deck of cards or the bag of dice came out, everyone knew they were going to have a good time sitting around the kitchen table. He was involved with the Circle of Friends for many years and was always there to help in any way possible, specifically taking pictures for all of the events. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world and enjoyed hiking in the High Desert. Duane made a huge impact in all of our lives and will be profoundly missed. Duane is survived by his wife, Margarita Hlavnicka of 63 years; his three children, Alan, Roxanne and Eric; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and his sister, Margie. He will be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery.
