Dorothy Jean Peterson "Jeannie" A recent resident of San Francisco, CA., Jeanie Peterson passed away October 25, 2015 at the age of 84. She died peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born June 4th 1931 in the state of Missouri. Her parents were Patrick and Gladys Ashford. Jeanie is survived by sisters Neva Senske and Shirley Ann Ashford and joins deceased brother Carl and sister Virginia in heaven. She was married to John Peterson Jr. and they had three children, Leslie Gayle, Christine Ann and her son Jeffrey Scott. She went on to Cal State Long Beach for her undergraduate degree in Elementary education and her Master's Degree in Education. She taught for 23 years at Downey Unified School district for grades k-12. Jeannie enjoyed reading, tennis, solving puzzles, and her friends and family and loved The Lord. She lived in Long Beach for most of her life and spent the last 10 years living in Phoenix, Arizona. Family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
