Doris Marie Ausman

Doris Marie Ausman went home to the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She is survived by two loving sons, Dan (Carolyn) and David (Lisa); three grandsons, Michael (Heidi), Christopher, and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Jetlyn. She is also survived by her brothers Dennis Eischeid (Lois) of Daniel Island, SC and Gary Eischeid (Nancy) of Cleveland, TN. Her brothers, Walter, Clarence, Norbert, and Ron Eischeid predeceased Doris.

Doris was born on January 31, 1930 in Halbur, Iowa, the only daughter of the late Frank and Frances Eischeid. She graduated from St. Angela Academy and the St. Anthony School of Nursing in Carroll, IA. Doris married Francis "Frank" Ausman upon his return from the Korean War in 1953. A few years later they left Iowa with their young son and settled in Orange County, CA, where she resided for 64 years. Doris was a career nurse and served as Chief Nursing Officer at Lakewood Regional Medical Center in California for over 30 years during which time she completed her Master's degree from Pepperdine University. Doris was a founding member of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church where she is also survived by her beloved Fr. Patrick Moses (formerly of St. Irenaeus), along with numberous church members and friends. The family is celebrating Doris' return to the Lord and her return into the arms of her devoted, loving husband of 59 years, Frank.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a small, private "Celebration of Life" Mass will be held on September 20 at St. Irenaeus Church, Cypress, CA followed by graveside services at Forest Lawn in Cypress, CA.
