Love and laughter are the perfect words to describe Donna Jean Thomson. Her selfless love and great sense of humor brought tremendous joy to all the lives she touched. Donna Jean was born in Peoria, Illinois on March 11, 1929 as Donna Jean Folger and moved to Long Beach at the age of four when her family moved here in 1933. She resided in Long Beach for the rest of her life until the Lord took her Home on November 11, 2015. Donna was always so much fun to be with even in her school days having attended Burbank and Fremont Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and graduated from Wilson High School in 1947. She was 13 years old when she met her one and only true love, Bob (Whitey) Thomson. They began their life together as boyfriend and girlfriend and it continued on in a marriage that lasted 62 years, until Whiteys passing in 2011. Their love story is one for the ages as together they created a home that was always open and welcoming to everyone, spreading joy to their countless friends, many of them dating back to their school days. Donna Jean’s greatest accomplishment in life was her total dedication to her family. She leaves behind her three daughters, Lorie Jean Reynolds and her husband Bill, LuAnn Hauxhurst and her husband, Mike and Patti Crawford and her husband Paul. Her adoring grandchildren, Bryan and Renee Bundy, Amanda and Brent Chinchilla, Kelly and Stan Bradshaw, Lacy and Brent LeVasseur and Grant and Jen Hauxhurst. Also her great grandchildren, Willow and Zoe Bundy, Drew and Isaac Chinchilla, Tegan and Maisy Bradshaw and Perry and Thomson LeVasseur. Also broken hearted by Donna Jean’s passing is her sister, Peggy Miller. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Bob Folger and sister, Mary Ellen Parker. Her Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, 5161 Arbor Road, Long Beach, California. Reception at Skylinks Golf Course 4800 E. Wardlow Rd., Long Beach, Ca. 90808.
