Donald Lambert Litchfield December 16, 1943-September 29, 2015 Donald Lambert Litchfield was born in Ames, Iowa on December 16, 1943 the son of Commodore Fillmore and Lucille Rutter Litchfield. On September 29, 2015 Donald went to be with his heavenly family at Alternative Senior Giver in Fountain Valley, California at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 13 days, after fighting a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer. He grew up in Ames, Iowa and graduated from Ames High School in 1963. He lived most of his adult life in California. He was a star football player at Ames High and in his Senior Season was voted Homecoming Captain by his teammates. He was one tough fellow! He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War! He is survived by three brothers, Commodore Litchfield, George Litchfield, Jack Litchfield, and one sister, Eleanor Mae Litchfield Coleman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and six sisters. Interment will be October 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m., at The Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. Luyben Dilday Mortuary, Long Beach, California, is in charge of the arrangements.
