Dad was born on May 11, 1940 to Carl F. Preuss and Elizabeth J. Preuss. He grew up in Long Beach at St. Louis and Anaheim until they moved to East Long Beach on Mezzanine Way in 1950. Dad attended Millikan High school the first year it was built and graduated in 1958. He enlisted in the Army right out of high school. He made many life long friends while in the Army. They all continued to meet up every few years in different states until his death. He was a truck driver working for a few different dairy company's for over 30 years. He was on the job at one in the morning and worked eight to sixteen hours a day to provide for his family. Mom was able to stay home and raise my brother and I, a true blessing that doesn't happen too often today. Dad loved trains, old school radio shows, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, Loony Toons, and any other slapstick comedy. Dad worked as a bartender at night a few days a week when we were young and always had some good stories to tell. His favorite spot for a "cold one", sandwich and a pickled egg was Joe Jost. A special thank you to the staff at Kamstra Home Care. Dad was at the facility for about three years. He was well taken care of and the staff really enjoyed him and his humor. Dad worked his butt for us. Showed us what can be accomplished through hard work and consistency. Those values have given us the motivation to have the good life we live to this day. He is survived by his two sons Craig Preuss, Curtis Preuss (Lori), and grandson Ozzie Preuss.
