David George Salg

David was born in Lynwood, CA on May 24, 1951 to George and Pat Salg.  He grew up on Warwood in Lakewood, CA.  He attended MacArthur Elementary School, Bancroft Junior High and Lakewood High School.  He went to Long Beach City College and California State University - Long Beach.

From a young age he played Little League with his dad as his coach.  He pitched his way all the way through college.

He started working at ADP in the early 70's where he met Sharon in 1975.  He followed Sharon to GTE/Verizon in 1979 and worked there until his retirement in 2015.

David and Sharon married in 1981.  Nicole was born in January 1983 and when Nicole was 2 years old, they bought their home on Tulane Ave. in Long Beach.  Their second daughter, Dana, was born in August 1986 which completed their family.

Dave was an avid golfer.  Loved fly fishing, photography and kayaking.  His girls and his nieces and nephews have even surprised him with an occasional baseball game at Wardlow Park.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughters, Nicole (James) and Dana.  His brother Alan, sisters Diana (Tom) and Debbie and many nieces and nephews.
