Darrel Lee Bush

Born February 22, 1928 and passed away October 13, 2023 at the age of 95.

Darrel was born in Glendale, CA and lived in Bishop, CA until he was a teenager. He then moved to Long Beach, CA and graduated from Wilson High School in 1945.

After high school, Darrel enlisted in the Navy and was on the USS Rochester during the Korean War for 4 years. Following his time in the Navy, Darrel went to Mortuary School in Los Angeles, CA. While there, he met Lois McKenzie who later became his wife in 1960. Darrel and Lois were married for 52 years.

Darrel was in the mortuary industry for 30+ years. He worked at a few mortuaries in Southern California, including this one we are at today.

Darrel was a member of the local Masonic Lodge. He also attended Los Altos Brethren Church of Long Beach for many years with his wife and children, Mark & Wendy.

Darrel is preceded in death by his wife Lois Bush. He is survived by his children, Mark Bush (wife Patty Bush), Wendy Bush, two grandchildren, Kristen Hoskins (husband Robert Hoskins) and Gregory Bush (wife Francine Bush) and seven great-grandchildren (Alexia, Trace, Wayde, Colton, Bradyn, Lillyn and Jade).

Darrel loved to take vacations to Cananda, Navy reunions, Oregon and even a couple cruises. Darrel gave the greatest hugs, was known for his generosity and kind spirit, looked forward to his weekly lunch with friends, had a soft spot for dogs and sure loved his Anaheim Angels (which he often had season tickets for).
