Daniel "Danny" Burke

Daniel “Danny” Burke unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Newport Beach, California. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Burke, and his two sons, Shane and Nathan Burke. Daniel was 64 years old.

Daniel, son of Paul and Matilda Burke, spent his entire life in Long Beach. If he wasn’t surfing, he was skiing, hunting, snowboarding, travelling, or anything else that got him outdoors. He was best known for his huge grin and self-proclaimed “famous” wedge salad. Daniel was fun loving, generous, hard-working, and simply the best. His impact can be felt throughout the longshore union and local community in which he built lasting relationships with everyone he met.

His service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Sunset Beach Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations in his name for Las Damas and the Sunset Beach Womans Club.
