Dale Vance Phillips, son of Rev. Herschel and Opal Phillips, went to meet Jesus in glory on January 20, 2023. Dale Phillips was born in Kansas City, MO on September 9, 1930. In passing, he leaves behind his loving wife, Ann Phillips of Yorba Linda, CA. They were married 74 years. His 4 loving daughters include, Suzann Douthwright, Margie Tucker, Lori Phillips and Julie Woolsey. Michael Douthwright, Patrick Tucker, Saylor and Reel Woolsey are the grandchildren that held a special place in Dale’s life.
Dale attended Poly High School and graduated in 1949. He worked for Parks Service Stations and Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA before he ventured out on his own purchasing his first service station at 21 years of age. Over the years he acquired several service stations known as Phillips Texaco.
In 1976 Dale purchased his first tire store in Fullerton, CA, Phillips Tire Co. He owned up to ten tire stores and became known as the Tire Company of Orange County. During this time frame, he established himself as a man with a strong work ethic and integrity that was apparent to his employees, customers, vendors and friends.
Dale sold his tire company in 2014 and retired at age 84. He was extremely active in his church, Yorba Linda Friends. Dressing to the nines to worship Jesus was his way of honoring Him.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed the game of golf. If he was not on the golf course, he was watching golf or any sporting event on the television. He attended countless Laker basketball games.
Dale Phillips will be greatly missed in this life, but we all look forward to reuniting with him at the feet of Jesus, our Savior, for eternity.
