Dale Eugene Mitchell was born to James and Hilda on February 2, 1940 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He passed away in Long Beach on February 10, 2025, one week after his 85th birthday.

He is survived by his 2 daughters Katherine and Lori, his grandson Nathan, and his granddaughter Emily.

Dale was the youngest of 3 children. His brother Marvin passed away in 1983. His sister Marie passed away in 2009.

James and Hilda moved their family to Southern California in 1951. Dale attended Long Beach Poly High School and he played drums in the Long Beach Junior Concert band and also marched in the Rose Parade. He graduated from Long Beach Poly class of 1958. In 1963, he enlisted in the army. He served 2 years at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, specializing in metal working and was a decorated sharpshooter.

In 1966, he married the love of his life, Pamela Corp. In 1968 their first daughter, Katherine, was born. Their second daughter, Lori, was born in 1971. They bought their home in Lakewood in 1972. Dale had a long career in aerospace, working as a Quality Control Inspector for multiple
companies.

Dale enjoyed summer vacations with family that included boating at the Colorado River, visiting lighthouses along the west coast, off-roading in his Jeep and traveling with their RV. He loved building and flying model airplanes in his younger years. In later years, he loved spending time with his grandkids. In about 2005, Dale and Pam started attending Calvary Cross Chapel. In about 2006, they both retired from rewarding careers and hard work.

His wife Pam passed away in 2012 from cancer and Dale survived a major heart attack that same year. He was faithfully at his wife’s side throughout her battle with cancer. He continued to support his family and church even when he was battling his own illnesses. He lived a life of integrity and character that honored Jesus and his family. Dale was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather who is missed by many.
