Curtis R. Brundage, age 83, passed away May 2, 2022 after a long battle with complications of diabetes.

Curtis AKA Popi, is survived by a wife, Lonnie, and two children: Deborah Schall and Curtis Brundage, II. He also had five loving grandchildren: Tara Schall, Emma Schall, Parker Schall, Rachel Brundage and Grant Brundage.

Born in Tampa, Florida; Curtis was proudly raised Native American. His heritage is decended from Sam Moniac of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians more than 200 years ago.

Curtis is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He joined the Air Force when he was just 18 years old, and served as a Tech Sergeant Flight Engineer. For his service, he earned multiple medals. He was stationed in North Carolina, Hawaii, Alabama, Florida, Taiwan, North Dakota, to name a few. Curtis retired from the Air Force after twenty years in August of 1977 in California.

Curtis, then worked as a long haul truck driver with UPS from 1982 to 2002. He then retired for a second time.

Aside from his family, Curtis’ greatest devotion was to charity. He was active in Freemasonry for over 50 years serving as Master multiple years. In addition, he donated his time and energy supporting Food Finders and Meals on Wheels in Long Beach. He was passionate about serving the community.

Free Masons Lodge #674 will host services for Curtis at 2pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He will have a burial at sea on Monday, May 23, 2022.
