Constancia Grande Edwards

Constancia Grande Edwards lovingly known as “Connie” was born into this world on January 28th, 1947, in Nagserialan Camiling Tarlac, Philippines to her parents Florentino and Clara Grande. A devoted Catholic, she lived a life of faith, family, friendship, and service. Connie passed away of natural causes on September 17th, 2025, at the age of 78 – though she liked to say she was 77 years old.

Connie spent her early years in the Philippines creating cherished memories with friends and family. In her twenties, she immigrated to the United States, and lived in Rome, New York, where she worked at a pizza place. In the 1970s she married the love of her life, Stuart Edwards. Together they raised their family in St. Louis, Missouri. Connie was a beautician and later answered a deeper calling to care for others, building a 30-year career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

After retiring, Connie found joy in traveling - often back home to the Philippines, to Thailand, and around the United States, especially Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Chicago. She loved going to the gym doing Zumba. For a period of time the slot machines were exciting to her. She enjoyed karaoke and joined her church choir for the past few years. She would attend parties with friends and go to the American Legion for various events.

Connie was always there for her family and friends. Whether lending a hand or talking with them, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and has a dog named Chico. Her home is fruitful of plants and flowers; she definitely had a green thumb. Connie made a lot of devoted friends that made a lasting impression on her. She was incredibly supportive of her family, whether attending events, talking on the phone, or learning social media to connect with others. Connie was a very caring, compassionate, and loving person. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and genuine friendship.

Connie is survived by her daughter Jennifer Lewandowski, son-in-law Theodore Lewandowski, grandchildren Nathaniel Lewandowski, Rachel Edwards, and Julia Edwards. Her sister Sotera Evangelista, brother Leovino Grande, sister-in-law Delia Grande. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband Stuart Edwards, her son Naholowaa Russell Edwards, her parents Florentino & Clara Grande, her siblings Hipolito, Anuelo, Expidito, Ronelio, Pacifico, and Florentino Jr, and Leoncia Grande.

It is truly an honor and blessing for Connie to be able reach out and touch so many souls in her lifetime. Many hearts are broken with her news of her passing, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
