Connie Marlene Olson

Connie Marlene Olson (Zaptiff), age 71, passed away April 12, 2022 at 12:12am. She was a beloved mom, grandma, partner, aunt, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by her family. Connie was born on November 9 ^th 1950 to Ross & Elvera Zaptiff and grew up in Artesia, CA with an older brother (Carl) and sister (Linda). She attended Gahr High School in Cerritos, CA and went on to graduate from Cal State University Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Connie was a dedicated, well-respected, and highly regarded employee of LB Memorial Miller Children’s Hospital for 35 years, where she managed the pediatric outpatient specialty clinics/practices. She retired with distinction in January of 2019, looking forward to a new chapter of her life, traveling, shopping, watching movies, spending time with her family, and just being able to relax and do nothing. Connie was an animal lover (especially kitties!), was well known for her witty sense of humor and “tell-it-like-it-is” personality! She was loyal, proud of her family, smart, honest, hard-working, generous, loving, an organizer, saver and preparer, a detective and investigator, an intuit, and overall good person who always put her family first. Connie is survived by her two daughters (Leah DeBolt; Erin Sairafe), two beautiful granddaughters (Charlize Glass; Bayan Sairafe), favorite son-in-law (Ramez Sairafe) and loving partner (Douglas Petty).

Connie’s service will be held at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, 5161 E. Arbor Rd., Long Beach, CA 90808, on Monday April 25 ^th , 2021 at 10:30am ; funeral immediately following will take place at Artesia Cemetery, 11142 Artesia Blvd., Cerritos, CA 90703 (across from Gahr High School) at 12:30p.
