Christopher Allen Day Profile Photo

Christopher Day was an intelligent, kind, funny and thoughtful son, brother and grandson. He brought comic relief to most situations.

Chris was born in Long Beach, CA and lived most of his life in Cerritos. He attended Bragg Elementary school, Haskell Jr High, and Gahr High school graduating in 1993. He was very active in Drama and Speech. He was also a writer and competed in various competitions. He attended state and national competitions and often won prizes for his dramatic interpretations and comedy routines. He went on to attend Cerritos College where he also competed in speech and majored in communication. He later transferred to Cal State LA.

He worked at various employments over the years, including at the Springfield Cafe (his best friend David’s deli), as an insurance adjuster and with his aunt Julie in her manufacturing business.

Chris lived with his grandfather (Papa) for three years when the doctor told Papa that it was unsafe for him to live alone. Chris helped keep him safe so he could stay in his home.

Chris was diagnosed with MS in 2015 and was unable to work. He lived with his mom, brother Jon and step father Richard.

Chris is survived by his mother Patrice Day, brother Jonathan Day, step father Richard Atkerson, Uncle and Aunt-Gary and Wendy Lavoy, Aunt Julie Brame and many cousins. Chris goes to join those that passed before him: his father Howard Day, brother Anthony (Tony) Day, both sets of grandparents, Lavoy and Day.

Chris’ life was over too soon. He fought a difficult battle for many years but now his pain is over and he is at peace.

In lieu of flowers, if you prefer, a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis or the American Cancer society, would be appreciated.
