Cecil Martin (Cec) Blasnek was born in Inglewood California on December 2, 1933 and passed away on December 4, 2015 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Cec is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, his children: Elizabeth, Christopher (Margaret) and Brent (Mary Beth) and five granddaughters: Stephanie Branstine, Taryn, Holly, Alexandra, and Anna Blasnek. Cec graduated from Inglewood High, El Camino Community College and USC from which he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Cec served in the Army and was stationed at White Sands Proving Grounds which assignment led to his lifetime career in the aerospace industry. Cec was active in the community serving as a long term board member of the Lakewood YMCA, a member of IEEE, treasurer of the Stroke Association, Deacon at Grace 1st Presbyterian Church, mentor at Power 4 Youth, and devoted alumnus of USC. A memorial service will be held at Grace 1st Presbyterian Church on December 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Please consider donations to Grace 1st Presbyterian Church or Power 4 Youth in lieu of flowers.
