Catherine Correen (Biere) Doty

Catherine Correen (Biere) Doty, 66, went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2024 following abrief battle with Pancreatic cancer.

Cathy is preceded in death by the love of her life, Russell “Rusty” Doty. She is survived by her son Devin, daughter in law, Emily, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Madison & Grayson.

Born March 14, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to mother, Audria Biere, Cathy spent her early years with her grandparents. At 5 years old, she moved across the country to Gardena, CA where her mother married Tom Harris and welcomed her younger sister, Suzan. Cathy attended Leuzinger High School and then pursued her dream of Cosmetology School.

While in school, Cathy worked TRW and then at Christie Electric, where she met Rusty. She then achieved her Cosmetology License and transitioned to her dream of being a hairstylist. She worked for the Crystal Rose, Splash’s Hair Design and Salon Allure/2nd Chair. Her chair was always occupied. She built strong relationships with each and every client, who would go on to become lifelong friends.

Rusty and Cathy were married in La Mirada, CA on August 7, 1982 at La Mirada Friends Church. In 1984, they proudly welcomed son Devin to the world. Cathy had so much fun being a mom and sharing her love of movies with her son. She would often take Devin to the salon and on work trips to hang in the hotel while she would do hair for wedding parties and other events. The Doty’s were active in their church, attending small groups, events and serving on the hospitality team. In her free time, Cathy would enjoy getaway trips to Laughlin with Rusty, spending time at the pool or in the casino. They would go out riding in the desert and enjoyed hanging around the campfire. Of all the adventures she had in her life, the best was becoming ‘CC’ when her granddaughter was born in 2016. Cathy and Madison were like twins. They loved to shop, watch Dr. Pol, bake cookies & banana bread, and have sleepovers. Then, her grandson Grayson was born in 2020. He loved spending time at CC’s house, playing with trucks and the dog.

Cathy loved David Bowie, the Kansas City Chiefs, and dressing up for Halloween. She had an infectious personality and had to make sure everyone was having a good time, whether they were part of her group or not. But she ultimately loved nothing more than her Lord & Savior, her family, friends and clients. She never missed an opportunity to share with anyone that would listen that her God loves them and has a purpose for every situation. She was steadfast in her convictions till the end and knew God would always guide her. Our family has been blessed with so much support and in Cathy’s honor, we send you all love, kisses, and big fat giant hugs.
