Carol was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Barbara Dick Minix and Wilbur Minix. Carol passed on 7/18/19 at 11:04 pm to finally be with our Lord and my father Robert Zak. As a strong and tough matriarch of the family, she had so many interests in life. She was always reading and keeping up on an array of different subjects. My mom loved her garden, especially her roses. She loved to sew, knit, did all kinds of jewelry making and she was a great cook. She loved her family very much and it really showed when we went through her pictures and everything was mostly about her kids and grandchildren.
She was brought up old school and was very strict and disciplined but you knew she loved you without her having to tell you but by her actions. In her later years, she just loved to sit on the porch and watch the planes take off from Long Beach and it reminded her of her Air Force days.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, whom she was married to for 39 years. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Hoover; daughter, Barbara Rigg and husband Steve; daughter, Janice Zak and one son, Martin Zak and his wife, Bernadette Zak; grandchildren, Joshua Lopez, Kirsten Rigg, Jeremy, Alyssa, Dylan and Caleb Zak and her seven great grandchildren.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019, 10:30 am at St. Cyprian Church. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
