In loving memory of Carol Ann (Tucker) Swanson

June 29, 1937 - October 29, 2018

Carol Ann Tucker was born at home on June 29, 1937 - the baby of nine children of Clarence and Elsie (Blust) Tucker in Knoxville, IL where she grew up & went to school. She graduated in 1955 and worked as a teller in a local bank in Galesburg, IL until she married Jim Swanson. In 1964, Jim & Carol moved their young family to the Bay Area (San Mateo) in northern CA and in 1969 moved again to Southern CA where she lived her remaining years in Long Beach. She was active with her children, she loved to read and sew. In her later years, she became more and more interested in church and was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church in Long Beach, just down the street from her home. She had  a weekly bible study in her home with the help of her many friends from church and she had very special spiritual care from them as well, for many years.
Carol Ann died peacefully at home in her sleep on October 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers (Willie, Joe & Jim) and 2 sisters (Lura & Annabelle) and her daughter Tracy (Swanson) Valero. She is survived by two sisters (Jane Hlavach & Betty Scott) and one brother Harold (Shirley) Tucker; her daughter, Kelly (Brad) DeJongh, her son, Stuart (Andrea) Swanson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. The family is so grateful for the time we had with her, and in the promise of her Lord, we look forward to seeing her again.
