Carol Louise Holthe, born August 14, 1957, in Long Beach, California to Kenneth and Irene Holthe. She passed away leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love. Carol spent all 68 years of her life in her childhood home in Lakewood, California. A place filled with family, friendship, and countless cherished moments.
Carol was truly one of a kind — a perfect example of a Leo the Lion. She had a vibrant personality, a loving heart, and a spirit that could light up any room. She was never married, but the greatest joy of her life was becoming a mother to her daughter, Serena Irene, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
After graduating Lakewood high school in 1975, Carol built a career in the automotive industry throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, first working as a parts driver and later as a parts locator and dispatcher. She eventually found a job she truly loved working at Sam’s Club doing food demonstrations, where her outgoing personality and warm nature made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike.
Carol had many passions in life. She loved butterflies, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, bike shows, and car shows. She enjoyed spending time watching Hallmark movies, Dodger games, the Food Network, baking cookies, cupcakes, banana bread, cakes, and relaxing with crossword puzzles. One thing everyone knew about Carol was her deep love for Starbucks — especially her daily Java Chip Frappuccino. The Starbucks employees lovingly called her “Momma Carol” and always knew exactly how to make her drink just right.
In 2018, Carol became a grandmother for the first time with the birth of her grandson Noah Vincent, followed by Cole Kenneth in 2021 and Maya Ester in 2023. Being a grandma brought her endless happiness, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren. Carol was a loyal, loving, present, and caring mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her.
Carol also had many lifelong friends, simply because she was a social butterfly who loved people and enjoyed having a good time. Her kindness, humor, and unforgettable personality touched everyone lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by her daughter Serena, son-in-law Zachary, and her three beloved grandchildren, Noah Vincent, Cole Kenneth, and Maya Ester.
Carol’s love, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
