Bridget was tragically taken from her friends and family, by a drunk driver, on January 27th 2018. She was on a short drive down side streets to meet her friend to go to the movies. The shock of losing such a sweet, warm, gentle, compassionate family member so suddenly has completely rocked our world.
Bridget’s passion in life was healing people through Yoga. Her degree from CSLB was in Fine Arts and dance was her first love. She was able to carry on her love of dance and helping others, by teaching Yoga. She also worked at O’Malley’s for 20 years and really bonded with both her yoga students and customers at the restaurant.
Bridget had a quiet presence and a huge beaming smile. Fiercely loyal, always a little late and funny. She was an easy going, cheerful baby and child, a teenager who never rebelled and an adult who lived with grace and class. She loved shoes from the time she was a baby. Family and friends were both her priorities.
Our Bridget lived in Long Beach most of her life. Although she was born in Chicago, she and her mother moved to sunny California when she was 9 years old. At the age of 10 she met her friend Pam who had moved to Long Beach from Minnesota. They instantly bonded and have been more like sisters than friends ever since.
She is survived by her mother Pat Bauerkemper, Step-father, Mike Bauerkemper, step-sister, Carmen (Tom), her Uncles, John (Lynne), Paul (Judy) and Tom (Cindy) Ingham and Aunt, Mary (Steve) Muldrew. Many loving cousins and too many amazing friends to mention. The support of Bridget’s devoted friends and neighbors has been incredible and we are very thankful.
Bridget elected to donate her organs and it has given us some peace that she could help others even through her death.
A celebration of Bridget’s life will be held at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, on Friday, February 9th at 11 AM. 5161 E. Arbor Rd, Long Beach, CA 90808.
