Boots Joyce Hironimus

Boots (Betty) Hironimus of Irvine, CA, passed away on June 20, 2016. Boots grew up in Evansville Indiana and she would have celebrated her 82nd birthday on June 22. Boots married her childhood sweetheart Paul Hironimus in 1951. They moved to Southern California at that time and have called it home ever since. They were happily married for 65 years.

Boots memories were strongly planted in both Evansville Indiana and Lakewood CA. Personal connections were so important that she subscribed to the Evansville local paper while living in California. She looked forward to her yearly travels back home where she could reminisce with old friends from her childhood never missing a class reunion or fall festival

Boots was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Irvine. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family and especially her Tuesday lunches with her closest girlfriends.
She was fiercely loyal to her family and was generous with her love. It was not uncommon for her to be the surrogate mom to her daughter in laws as well as friends of both her sons and grandchildren. She was generous to a fault and she always had a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband Paul, her two sons Wyatt and Ken, her grandchildren Wyatt and Danielle, Chelsie, James and Maxie and 6 Great grandchildren. She was a wife, a Mother, a Grandmother and Great-grandmother. To all of us she was a friend.
For someone who was always laughing, she would ask that we remember her with laughter, tell a joke in her memory, and make a toast with a bottle of coca cola.
A celebration of Boots will take place on Saturday, July 9th, 2016, 11 AM, at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, 5161 Arbor Road, Long Beach, CA 90808, (562) 425-6401 Services will be followed by a reception at the mortuary.
