Betty Ann Dyke

DYKE, Betty Ann, passed away Jaunary 24, 2020. She was born in Long Beach, California on March 15, 1930. She lived her entire life in Long Beach, California and was active in many organizations. She was a duplicate bridge Master and enjoyed time gardening, shopping and being with her family.

She worked as an accountant for her husband’s business as well as Virginia Country Club and others. She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Essie Sorenson and her brother and sisters, Bill Sorenson, Gayle Zimmerman and Marvel Bond.

Betty was married to Herbert J. Dyke for 54 years until his death in 2003. Together they had three children, Deborah Jean Butcher (Mike), Diane L. Carrington (Billy) and David John Dyke (Margo).

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sarah Martinez (Marty), Michelle White, David Johnson (Tramaine), Marcus Johnson (Yoselyn), Eric Johnson (Alyssa) and eleven great grandchildren.

Our mom was a wonderful mother, wife, grandma, hostess, sister and friend. She welcomed everyone to her home and always had food and gifts for her friends and family.

She was always there when anyone needed her.

She will be greatly missed.
