Avelina Peralta Villaruz

Avelina Villaruz was born on Feb 10, 1944 in Tarlac, Philippines. She came to the US in June of 1981 and lived in Carson, CA. She was married to Ernesto Villaruz for 56 years and has 4 daughters, 2 sons, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.

She worked for P-Leiner for 20 years until the company closed down and she worked at Whiskey Pete’s in Las Vegas before retiring.

She loved her big family and babysat all of her grandchildren. She was the reason the family was so close. She loved get togethers and always remembered everyone’s birthdays. She loved to cook Filipino food. She loved playing bingo during our family holiday celebrations. She loved Las Vegas. The main reason why so many of us love Las Vegas today is because of all the memories we’ve had with her there. As she got older, she enjoyed staying local and playing slot machines at the local casinos. She loved traveling back to the Philippines with her husband to visit her family and friends.

Avelina was a strong, hardworking, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. On December 4, 2018 she passed away with all her family present and was finally reunited with her daughter Nora in heaven who had passed away 13 years prior. Avelina will truly be missed.
