Aurora “Lolie” Ramirez
February 27, 1931---January 31, 2017
Aurora “Lolie” Ramirez passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017, at Brittany House in Long Beach, California. Devoted wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all
those whose lives she touched.
Lolie was born and raised in Los Angeles, California to Jesus
and Teresa. She was the youngest of three children and
spent her childhood attending Catholic schools, remaining
faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ throughout her
entire life. Shortly after graduation from high school, Lolie
married the love of her life, Felix, in 1950 and settled in
Monterey Park, California. Over the years, Lolie devoted her
life to raising their five children, Sally, Gilbert, Kathy, Daniel, and Julie. Because of her loving nature, she was
always considered a second mother to many of her neighbor’s children and opened both her heart and her home to all those who stopped by. Lolie’s giving nature included volunteering especially after her children had grown
where she remained active in her grandchildren’s lives, not
only by assisting in their upbringing, but also volunteering at
their Catholic school well into her 70’s. Lolie was a fixture in
her Monterey Park home, having lived in the same house for
over 60 years. Though most neighbors came and went as the years went by, Lolie was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand and considered every one of them a good
friend.
Lolie is now rejoicing in Heaven, having been reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death especially her
parents, Jesus and Teresa, and her older brother, Arturo.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Felix, their five
children, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lolie is also survived by her loving sister, Raquel, and many nieces and nephews all of whom will mourn her passing but will take comfort in knowing she
will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Special acknowledgement to Brittany House for their compassionate care. A Funeral Mass will be held on
February 27, 2017 at 9:00 am at Saint Alphonsus Catholic
Church, 532 S. Atlantic Blvd., Los Angeles, California. In lieu
of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a church
or charity of your choice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
