Aurelia was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on February 22, 1934. She moved to El Paso, Texas on August 24, 1948.
She was married to Armando Bustamante, Sr. in 1950. They had six children: Armando Jr., Graciela (deceased), Jorge, Jose, Alma, and Gloria.
In October 1959, the family moved to Hawaiian Gardens, CA, where she began working in various hospitals, including: Twin Palms, Cerritos Gardens Hospital, Los Alamitos Hospital, and Woodruff Community Hospital, where she retired from as an Executive Environment Specialist.
She married George Leras on November 18, 1994.
She continued her education in Stained Glass Art. Within three months of completing her schooling, she received numerous awards, including a Certificate of Recognition and an Award of Merit from the County of Los Angeles.
She is survived by her children, five grandchildren: Armando (Paul), Kenneth, Andrea, Cassandra, and Daniel. And five great-grandchildren: Akayla, Diego, Ryder, Athena, and Jameson. She resided in Long Beach, California until her death.
