On Sunday, August 10, 1952, a beautiful baby girl entered the world to the expecting proud parents Mack and Carleaner Malone.  They named their bundle of joy Arvetta Dawn Malone.  She was the fourth child in a family of seven.  Ruled by the Sun, she was bold, bright, creative and outgoing.  For many years, she was the baby girl, and like many babies who hold a special spot she reigned supreme, and continued to flourish.

Growing up in a home where God was an integral part of the family, Arvetta accepted Christ at an early age.  Arvetta grew up in Long Beach, California, and attended John G. Whittier Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School.  She furthered her education at Long Beach City College where she graduated and became an Early Childhood educator working for the Head Start program.

As Arvetta progressed thru life, she married and had one son Arlondo Levi Holder.  She raised her son, as well as assisted with the nurturing of nieces, and nephews.  For Arvetta life was a journey with many curves, but like a skilled driver, she managed to make it through helping others with uplifting words, prayers and many times money for those who had emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Arvetta believed that “little is much when GOD is in it”.  Like the bible says in Luke 14:23: “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled”.

According to 2nd Corinthians 5:6, “we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord”.  On Sunday, April 10, 2016, Arvetta Dawn Holder left this world after enduring a yearlong battle with tumors.

Arvetta Dawn Holder leaves to remember her life’s journey a son, Arlondo Levi Holder, a daughter in-law Joni Holder, a grandson Preston James Holder, a step grandson Jason Rios, a grandson to be Cameron Holder, mother Carleaner Malone, four sisters, Mary Ann Riggs, Joan R. West, Maxine Malone, Sean N. Malone; one brother, Steve K. Malone; a host of family including nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
