It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Arthur S."Pingo" Zamarripa Sr. He passed on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home, in Los Alamitos surrounded by his loved ones. Pingo Sr. was born in Los Alamitos and lived there his entire life and was loved by all. He spent 2 years in the Navy where he served as a machinist during WWII. Soon after his return he met and married Sally Perez. They remained married until her passing in September of 1957. They had a daughter A. Susan Zamarripa. He then met and married Lorraine D Rosa in 1966 and they were married for 42 years until her passing in June of 2008. During that marriage they had their only son Arthur S Zamarripa Jr. He loved his son like no other and it was that love that carried him through to the end. He worked as a cement mason for more than 40 years. He was the life of the party, a great story teller, loved watching the Angels and horseracing, enjoyed dancing, fishing and his annual hunting trip to Colorado. He took fashion advice from no one, his signature look was all his own: Black jeans (way to short), T-Shirt, pair of house shoes, white socks and a worn out cap to top it off. He is survived by his son Pingo Zamarripa Jr. and his daughter-in-law Tracey Zamarripa, his daughter A. Susan Zamarripa Perez and son-in-law Dan S. Perez Sr., his grandchildren Danny S. Perez Jr., Adrian M. Perez & Maria O. Perez, Patrick F. Perez, great grandchildren Sally O. Perez and Benny O. Perez, and siblings Joseph Zamarripa Jr. and Nadine Falagan. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Zamarripa and Guadalupe Mendoza, siblings Isabelle Martinez, Esther Mejia and Alex Zamarripa, 1st wife Sally Perez and 2nd wife Lorraine Zamarripa.
