Arlene Loa Lenarth passed away peacefully on Dec. 30 at Los Alamitos Medical Center. She was born on May 6, 1925 in Hynes (now Paramount), Calif., the eldest child of Frank & Norda Zamboni. Her father was the inventor of the Zamboni Ice Resurfacing machine. It was at the family rink, Iceland, that she met her future husband, Richard Lenarth. They were married on July 23, 1944. Arlene & Richard were blessed with 4 children. She was very devoted to her family. Outside the home, she worked in the office at Frank J. Zamboni & Co in Paramount. She belonged to several garden clubs, the Paramount Soroptimist Club and donated time to her church. In recent years, Arlene lived at Rowntree Gardens in Stanton where she received loving care, enjoyed the many activities, and the beautiful grounds.
Arlene is survived by her brother Richard (Alice) Zamboni and sister, Jean Zamboni, daughter Diane Ryan, sons Roy and Ray (Tracy) Lenarth, plus 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and daughter Jane. A viewing and Rosary will be held at Luyben/Dilday Mortuary in Long Beach on Thursday, January 7. There will be a funeral Mass on Friday, January 8 at 10.00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Paramount. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the City of Hope.
