Angelo Pompi, 97, died July 20, 2015, with his family by his side in Seal Beach, California He was born April 7, 1918, in Plainfield, New Jersey to James I Scrocca and Jennie Deblassio both from Italy. His mother re-married Thomas Pompi, and his name was changed. As a teenager he was a seasonal worker in the food business and eventually moved to Florida He was drafted during WWII, and served in Air Force/Army and became Staff Sargent Machinist. He served for 4 years, and returned to Florida to his wife, Julia Nell Jordan. They soon had son, Ken Pompi, and soon made Jacksonville Florida their home. He left Florida and came to California in the late 50's, worked 20 years at National Can Corporation and retired in 1981. He then went to Laughlin, Arizona and worked as a clerk in the SportsBook at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino. He also did periodical work in California as a Security Guard, and met his present wife Mary Pompi, the marriage lasted 26 wonderful years He is survived by his lovely devoted wife, Mary, his son, Ken and his daughter in-law, Yvonne, grand-daughter Kourtney. As well as Mary's children - Michael Wong, Paz Cassidy, Marc Delrosario, Matthew Wong and 6 grandchildren.
