Angeline (Angie) N. Labor passed away on May 9, 2016 at her home in Long Beach, CA . She is survived by five children, Phillip A. (Leslie) Labor, Jr., Madeline (Gary) Butler, Marta (Theo) Schaper, Peter Labor and Marissa Walker, 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandsons and numerous family and friends. Preceding her in death was her spouse, Phillip A. Labor, Sr., and her children Margaret Niedringhaus and Vincent Labor.
Angie was born on December 12, 1923 in Lahaina, Maui in what is now the state of Hawaii. She moved with her family to Los Angeles when she was five years old, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942. She married Phil Labor on October 28, 1945. While raising seven children, Angie was an active member of the community: she was a PTA President, 1st Vice President of the American Legion Auxiliary Mayon Post, and was an officer of “Club 80” (wives of leaders at McDonnell Douglas). Angie will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her warm and welcoming spirit, and most of all, her love for all of her large and extended family.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 4:00 PM at Luyben Dilday Mortuary, with a vigil service beginning at 6:00PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Long Beach on Friday, May 20 at 9:00AM. Interment will follow at All Souls Catholic Cemetery and a Celebration of Life at the Skyroom at Skylinks Golf Course immediately thereafter.
