Ana Rosa Cantillo (aka. Mima, Nana) was born in Baracoa, Oriente, Cuba on March 1, 1913.
She moved to Habana, Cuba while in her teens and later married Ulises Consuegra. They had three children: Ninon, Liana and Uli. From 1952 to 1953, the family immigrated to the United States and settled in Miami, Florida. There, Ana worked as a seamstress, while raising and supporting all of her family. She had an abundant love for children and helped raise numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Throughout her life she remained young at heart, and being with kids was an immense joy for her.
In 2002, at the age of 89, Mima moved to Long Beach, California to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Liana and John. She always enjoyed family gatherings, helping around the house, chatting with friends and sewing.
Mima will forever be known for her selfless love, as well as her warmth and good humor. She was an example to all who knew her for her service to others without counting the cost.
Ana passed away peacefully on January 12, 2016 at home with her loved ones by her side. She will be greatly missed by the many who knew and loved her.
Her final resting place will be in Miami, Florida.
