Almadean Gillespie

Born in Wisconsin July 12, 1927 to Roy and Gertrude Thompson, Moved to Bremerton, Washington during high school. After High School earned a R.N. degree.

Married Thomas J. Gillespie in 1951 in Youngstown Ohio.

Tom and Almadean moved to California with their 5 children in 1963 and settled in Long Beach in 1965. Almadean lived in that L.B. home until her passing. She is survived by children Thomas wife Susan, Patrick wife Tammie, Carol husband John, Robert wife Kellie and Susan.

Almadean was an example of a life well lived. A loving mother (5 children), grandmother (10 grandchildren) and great grandmother (4 great grandchildren). She was a example of the power of living life according to the teachings of the Catholic Church. She had a special devotion to Mary, the mother of Jesus.

A beautiful smile and bright blue eyes were the windows to a kind, loving, generous and compassionate heart. To her last breath she did not waver in her love of her faith and family. Her failing health gave her children the privilege of showing her the kind of love and attention she gave to the world for her 92 years. She will always be with us. She is loved so much.
