Alice Gabrielson at age 79 passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017, in Long Beach, California. Alice had been suffering from an advanced stage of Parkinson's disease for many years. She was the daughter of Reverend Milton G. Gabrielson and Dorothy Gabrielson. After graduating from Long Beach Wilson High School, she attended and graduated from Long Beach State College, where she earned her degree in Library Science. Following nearly 40 years as a librarian for California State Long Beach University, and later for Carlsmith Ball and Cameron, Madden Long Beach Law firms, her retirement allowed her to enjoy folk dancing and auto racing. She was a founding member of the Long Beach Grand Prix Association. An internment service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 2:00 pm. at the Forest Lawn (Sunnyside) Cemetery, located at 1500 East San Antonio Drive, Long Beach, CA 90807, (562) 424-1631. Donations may be made in her memory to the Bay Shore Community Congregational Church, or a favorite animal charity.
